Independence Day: July 4th, 2008 ~ Viernes

Today is another Independence Day inside the United States of Amerika. Why do I not feel very independent on an existential level and seem to be so dependant on so much around me? Why do so many of my people look as if they are not free, happy and independent?

Alas, on a global level many who toil night and day are utterly dependent upon the crumbs from the corporate master’s banquet table. What dynamics and mechanics have really changed in the last 200 plus years for the slave? Where is our independence?

Logically, absolute independence is a mere illusion for us as sentient beings and not possible on a survival level.

We must hone our analytical powers by critically observing social phenomena in the objective external world on different levels, from different angles and to varying degrees. Not all analyses are of equal value and some confuse their existential truth with universal applicability. There is real power in the diversity of opinions and safety in a multitude of advisors. We must engage in democratic dialogue and deep meditation to help us get to the truth of matters. Every great social need that goes unmet creates a power vacuum for the people’s vanguard elements to engage in mass mobilization.

We are dependent upon the sun, the air and other basic elements in our earth environment. In many ways we are dependent upon others for social intercourse: the family, the community and service providers, such as, the grocery store man who takes our money for products in the common germ cell for all capitalist transactions. There are always positive and negative aspects to dependency. Some social dependency is natural for us as social beings, while others forms of dependency are harmful to our vital interests: oil dependency, drug dependency and physical dependency on others. Commuting drivers groan about the price of gas for their vehicles because of our dependence on foreign oil, while alternative sources of fuel go unharnessed without the government funding, though trillions of government dollars are spent on an unpopular war in the Middle East.

In general it can be said that we should strive to be independent and free from all forms of economic exploitation, social oppression and psycho repression. In the repressed mentality there is evidence of an innate desire for and real fear of independence, a desire for and fear of the truth and a desire for and fear of freedom itself with all its social obligations.

In the post-911 era the reactionary forces of fascism have propagandized the Amerikan public to the point where many repress the sane logic of their own minds and fail to follow their trains of thoughts to their logical conclusions so as not to appear unpatriotic or even terrorist minded. Patriotism has been perverted to a blind obedience to the status quo and the whole truth is left out of our general vocabulary to the point where the truth itself seems subversive to some.

Even Presidential candidate Obama has to tweak his messages in order not to appear too weak on terrorism or towards those who have been labeled by the Bush rogue regime as enemies of the fascist state because they do not adjust to the fascist warp.

If we are ever to be free, independent and live in true liberty then we must face the fact that our collective liberty as a people must be brought about through mass liberation struggles that have a global impact. None of us are truly free and independent until we all are.

What happens when we can no longer blame our personal ills on the status quo and other powers outside of our control and beyond our sphere of influence? At what point do we take immediate responsibility for our own independence?

We can be relatively independent from social restrictions and governmental repressions once we begin working on raising our own individual consciousness, raising the consciousness of at least those in our immediate local environment and eventually strive to impact on the mass media in order to raise the mass consciousness of people on a global level.

Of course, the so-called mass media is actually not a mass media but a corporate media controlled by big rich greedy corporations who solidly oppose true independence for the people, especially economic independence. It is the corporate mass media that forms, shapes and molds mass consciousness and public opinion in general to best suit their financial interests.

The poor oppressed homeless man in the streets is not truly independent. Yes, he is free to go hungry without a roof over him at night and free to wander in aimless circles. The caged man grabbing onto his cells bars is certainly not independent as he curses and rails against existence and even God Himself. The paranoid alien immigrant to the United States who lives in the shadows of social life is not independent and always lives in fear of the ‘migra’ and deportation. All of us who exist without any real direct power over our lives, our livelihood and over our means of obtaining our daily survival sustenance are not completely independent in the fullest sense of the word in connected reality

— in·de·pen·dent·ly adverb

At one point or another ~ between here now and physical death ~ the spiritual realm must manifest itself in concrete forms in relation to our continued survival and success. Otherwise mere talk of independence is merely a hollow shameful sham meant to deceive and keep repressed peoples in a devious delusion of surface independence while we remain enslaved in real practical survival terms. We may not be in old times of chattel property slavery, but if we work for a living getting paid by the hour then we are really wage slaves who are still imprisoned by the corporate capitalist machine. On this Independence Day it must be stated that we are NOT free and independent under the Amerikan Empire!
